Beijing University of Chinese Medicine & Pharmacology, under the auspices of the Department of Science & Education for the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, has compiled this bilingual textbook series for college undergraduates. Beijing University of Chinese Medicine & Pharmacology is a key university among the TCM teaching institutions of higher learning in China. The University first began to enrol foreign students in 1957 and since then many thousands have come from over 70 countries to study there. The University devoted considerable time to the task of compiling and translating this series of TCM textbooks, and even convened a special working group to assist with its production. This series is based on the most recent editions of TCM textbooks currently in use in the PRC, and hence they have absorbed the latest research on TCM which lay more emphasis on logic, science and practicality. This series of textbooks is suitable for both foreign and Chinese students.
