Warm disease theory or Wen Bing emerged from the experiences of Ming dynasty practitioners faced with epidemics of feverish diseases which did not abate when treated according to the principles laid out in earlier works such as the Shang Han Lun. The author reviews the historical and theoretical aspects of Warm Disease theory and its clinical applications.
