The form of romanisation employed in this series coincides with that used in the ‘Cantonese-by-Radio, Intermediate Series’ which is basically but not entirely, the ‘Meyer-Wempe’ system adopted in their Student’s Cantonese-English Dictionary, or better known as the O’Meia system. From Andrew White's review of language learning material (http://whitey.net/2books.htm): Good - Simply the best, most comprehensive Cantonese course ever written. Good - The Romanization is logical, intuitive, and easily the best one I've seen. Good - Extensive use of Chinese characters allows you to 'pick them up' without really trying. Bad - To my knowledge there are no cassettes available. Bad - Slightly out-of-date in some of its language usage. Bad - A few typos here and there.
