The only book the highly regarded Kuo Lien-Ying chose to publish in English. It was first published privately before Kuo Lien-Ying left China, and then again privately in 1966, soon after his arrival to teach in the United States. Now the book has been edited and expanded by Kuo Lien-Ying's widow and disciple, Simmone Kuo. Her version includes new material on the philosophical origins of T'ai Chi Ch'uan, especially in the I Ching, the most ancient text of Chinese wisdom. The book presents explanations of the meaning of this ancient martial art, the keys to understanding the Thirteen Movements, exquisite photographs of Lien-Ying performing the movements, and other supplementary literature.
