This book is compiled for students who are already familiar with spoken Chinese dialogue at intermediate level and who want more dialogue and comprehension practice. It is divided into 20 lessons, in two volumes. Each volume contains 10 lessons. Each lesson is a 5 minute play selected from "Stories Amid Ourselves" —the mini-plays shown on Beijing Television. These twenty mini-plays exhibit different scenarios in the metropolitan life of Beijing. Each lesson includes text, vocabulary, grammar notes, and exercises, with particular emphasis on listening and speaking.
