Yunnan - also known as ‘The Natural Garden’ - has an abundance of flowering plants. About 2500 of the flowering plant species found in Yunnan contribute much to the beauty of the environment. Since the last century many of Yunnan's wild flower species have been introduced to Europe and the United States for cultivation. Species including rhododendron sp., primula sp., gentiana sp., lilium sp., are native to the province. Roaming around Yunnan, whether in the tropical rain forests, monsoon rain forest, subtropical evergreen broadleaved forests, conifer forests, alpine meadows or among the debris on high mountains, there will always be a chance to see a wonderland bright with colourful flowers.
