"The Premio 10 has been a wonderful surprise for me as a moxa alternative. I generally use moxa on about 50% of my patients and found my lungs were getting more and more irritated by the smoke over time. When I first heard about the Premio 10 Moxa device I was skeptical. Could an infrared device really deliver the many benefits of the traditional mugwort moxibustion? In my experience with the Premio 10 the answers is definitely yes.
One key difference I have noticed is that unlike a traditional moxa stick, which emits heat in all directions (including back up at your hand), the Premio 10 emits heat in one direction only - straight down in a concentrated beam on to the point. This is an advantage for two reasons: one, you don’t have to worry about inadvertently burning your own hand; and two, it means you can get more direct client feedback on their comfort levels of heat from the device.
